Arconic is currently is search of a Production Superintendent , to join our Global Rolled Products (GRP) Operations Business Unit, in Texarkana, TX.
The Production Superintendent is responsible for directing the efforts of the Production Leader and Team Leads to meet business requirements for the efficient production of metal in an Arconic Business System (ABS) environment. Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Superintendent is responsible to ensure a safe and productive work environment, establish overall department business objectives, and is accountable for overall team development.
Ensure the team is safely producing the highest quality product in accordance with plant quality standards.
Support the Production Leader and Team Leads in utilizing Arconic Supervisory Excellence (ASE) principles and Human and Organizational Performance principles (HP).
Acts as backup for the Plant Manager.
Oversee Disciplinary actions
Complies with all employment laws and Arconic Equal Opportunity Policies in all hiring, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary actions.
Participates with Accounting in preparing an operating budget for the Department and monitoring that budget, this includes using the DI process to lower materials and services spending and capturing productivity and quality gains.
Approve of purchases for the Department.
Develop strategic Quarterly A3 business plans for their Department linked to plant objectives.
Analyze safety, quality and production data for trends and opportunities for problem-solving and waste elimination.
Monitor Production Department flow and act to support customer needs and maintain target inventory levels.
Drive compliance to Safety, Quality and Environmental certifications and regulations in the assigned area.
Attends team meetings for support, ensuring that team meetings are occurring and are being led by Lead Operators with engagement from Team Star Points, coaching the team to perform in a cohesive manner and drive continuous improvement across all metrics.
Plan, lead, and organize equipment and staffing to meet Department’s safety, quality, production, financial and DI goals.
Ensure execution of operations plan for department outages to meet customer needs.
Set department objectives to minimize risk associated with Safety, Quality and Change Management.
Minimum Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Operations, SC, or Business from an accredited institution
8 years manufacturing experienced, preferably in aluminum manufacturing.
Experience working with the union.
Experience with AS400 and Oracle
Able to work flexible hours as required.
Demonstrated computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Ability to translate corporate and plant business objectives into meaningful and achievable business goals for the department.
Operational knowledge regarding process, equipment capability, practices, and systems.
Strong mechanical and process aptitude preferred.
Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be results orientated.
Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, decision making and problem-solving skills
Works with a wide variety of employees at all levels of the organization including external to Texarkana to increase awareness and understanding of EHS objectives, including training, coaching, and developing team members

Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory/leadership role.
